How to Enter 

Entering the competition is simple:  

  1. Create: Develop an innovative 3D design in STL format. Think outside the box and focus on how your creation can contribute to society.  
  2. Describe: Write a short description explaining your design’s purpose and the impact it could have.  
  3. Submit: Upload your design and description via our online portal on the 3D Store website under the ‘Schooling & Education’ tab.  

 

That’s it! You’re in the running to win amazing tools that will help bring your ideas to life.

This competition is open exclusively to students currently enrolled in schools across Africa. So, if you are a student, what are you waiting for? Get that creativity flowing!

Terms and Conditions

  1. The Competition is open to all students from primary and secondary schools within South Africa. 
  2. Students from Grades 4-9 are allowed to enter. 
  3. Schools must have the capability to implement the 3D Printing curriculum, including a dedicated educator. 
  4. Multiple entries from the same school are permitted. 
  5. All eligible entries will be reviewed by a panel of judges appointed by the Organiser. 
  6. The winning school will be selected based on the creativity, feasibility, and impact of their design. 
  7. The judges’ decision is final, and no correspondence will be entered into. 
  8. Winners will be notified via email and/or phone.
  9. The winning school will receive:
    1. Access to the Inspire Africa 3D Printing curriculum for 6 months for up to 100 students and one educator.
    2. A free Creality K1C printer with filament. 
    3. Comprehensive online educator training provided by Inspire Africa.
    4. Ongoing support and resources related to the curriculum. 
  1. The prize is non-transferable and cannot be exchanged for cash or any other alternatives. 
  2. The Organiser reserves the right to substitute the prize with another of equivalent value if circumstances dictate.
  3. Ownership of intellectual property:
    1. The winner acknowledges that the Intellectual Property pertaining to the 3D Printing Programme is the property of Inspire Africa.
    2. The winner accordingly undertakes not to share, copy, modify, alter, reverse-engineer, or adapt any Intellectual Property without the prior written consent of Inspire Africa.
    3. Without limitation of any of the aforementioned provisions, the winner undertakes to take all such reasonable steps to protect the rights of the holder of the Intellectual Property rights.
  1. By entering the Competition, schools grant the Organiser the right to use their entry, including the school’s name, photos (videos) taken and any submitted content, for promotional and marketing purposes. 
  2. Entries may be showcased on the Organiser’s website, social media platforms, and other marketing materials.
  3. The Organiser reserves the right to cancel, amend, or suspend the Competition in the event of unforeseen circumstances beyond its control. 
  4. The Organiser will not be liable for any loss, damage, or injury resulting from participation in the Competition. 
  5. By entering the Competition, schools agree to be bound by these T&Cs.
